Willie pulling the Black card...Gimmie a break.
Last time I checked Willie was Black when the Wilpons hired him. Now just becasue the team looks like garbage after last years collapse, finally, some of the blame is being directed at the manager. Which makes sense to me. If any team lost the way we did last year and then came out looking like we do now, it is only fair to place some or all of the blame at the top. I don't care if you are white, black, blue or brown, you need to be held accoutable for you teams' performance. Now after taking some heat he was quoted as saying black coaches/managers are held to a different standard. He even used Herm Edwards as an example!! I mean C'mon now. Any Jet fan can remeber the Herm era where he constantly mis-managed the clock and failed to come up with any type of cretive play calling. If herm had been white he still would have been a poor coach. This just seems like a lame why to try and take the heat off of yourself and flip the situtation around. Any one else argree with me or what?

I AGREE WITH YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY T-BONE. THE ONLY THING HE IS MANAGING WELL IS THE BULLPEN IRONICALLY ENOUGH, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PUTTING HEILMAN IN AT ANY POINT IN THE GAME THAT ISN'T MOP UP DUTY EVER. I FEEL SICK RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THEY ARE GETTING THEIR ASS KICKED AGAINST OUR RIVALS AND ALSO BECAUSE I JUST HOUSED NUMEROUS CHICKEN FINGERS VERY QUICKLY.
NO ONE CARES THAT HE IS BLACK, IF ANYTHING, I LIKE HIM MORE FOR THAT.
IF WILLIE WAS BLUE THEN HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED ALREADY THOUGH. THAT IS THE ONLY THING I DISAGREE WITH. I AM WRITING IN A CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE I WOULD EVERYONE TO KNOW HOW SERIOUS I AM.

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE HEILMAN IN A GAME EVER AGAIN. When I come home I want to sit in the bleachers and hurl half eaten hot dogs and peanuts at his head. I guess he is one of willie's "guys" though. Anyway Dave, thanks for agreeing with me for once. To bad willie is not blue. Lets hope Pedro comes back and lights a flame under every ones ass!

His bull pen selections have been horrible too. He's had a knack for plucking just the WRONG guy out of the pen for his entire time as manager. How about his choice of Schoenweiss instead of Wagner in San Diego in a tie game in the ninth? Result: 3 walks and a HBP. How about the many times he's called on one of your favorite guys, Hielman to blow a game?
Willy's skin color got him the job in the first place and has actually saved his sorry ass, AFAIC.
But Willy's not really the problem with this team. That accolade actually falls to Omar for compiling the Los Mets roster with not one team leader on it. In a recent game, David Wright was the only non Latin on the field for the Mets, the first guy off the bench was Latin as were two relievers. I signed up to be a Mets fan many years ago, not Los Mets. Omar has let his racial bias color his roster management. Beltran, Martinez and Santana, the top free agents signed by him. And what club house leader has he brought in? Martinez? Nope, not an every day player. LoDuca? Gone. Wright? Omar didn't pick him, and he's too young right now to step up and be a vocal leader. Latin players just don't seem to have that leadership spark, unless your initials are RC. (That's for all you youngsters to figure out.)
No matter. Willie still sucks. Wanna bet that if he does get fired the next guy will be a Latino?
