NYSS - An Abortion of New York Sports Journalism

Geez, you guys are tough. Sure, Eli had a lot of help yesterday, from his o-line, from his running backs, receivers, everybody seemed to be "on" yesterday. Especially Cory Webster.

But Eli was the leader on the field. And when he was backed up, he got them outta there. (Toomer helped a LOT). He's put up some big BIG numbers against the Cowboys. They lost those 2 BOYZ games on defense, and now it looks as if that D will be a lot better this Sunday.

If they beat the Boyz next week, will it still be just "for Now"? It could very well happen, especially if T.O.'s ankle is still a problem. I am worried about that big Dallas O-line though. Even Garcia picked them apart in the 1st qtr before the G-Men decided to apply some serious pressure.

Eli was terrific yesterday. And the week before. And the week before. The Vikings gave him fits, I still can't figure that one out, the last two times against the Vikings the whole team just fell apart.

I love Eli but it was never a question on his abilities or desire. It was always and will always be his inconsistency that will ultimately determine his "legacy". With the right people makin plays around him, he is certainly capable, if not more than.

Remember it took Peyton 5 years before he did shit in a playoff game.

One thing I noticed is that he is keeping the ball down, which is limiting the chance that the ball will sail/get picked off. Most of his incomplete passes ar ein the dirt, away from the defender.

Im a Jets fan, which is why i am hard on Eli, but regardless I will be rooting for the Giants throughout.
You are a Jets fan, and hard on Eli?
I am a die hard Giants fan and really don't like Eli. I just have no confidence in him. With that said, I will give him all the credit in the world for the way he has been playing. I hope that the light has finally gone off and he keeps up the good work. It has definately been a struggle with him, and I can only pray that he now knows what he needs to do and keeps it up. It was nice to see him actually show some emotion in the game on Sunday. I was shocked when I saw him smile! I would love to have the opportunity for him to prove me wrong.
We have an awesome team, and every player deserves to be congratulated for the work that they have done. Bradshaw is just awesome!
I guess it all comes down to who gets the blame for things. Granted, Eli just isn't that accurate sometimes, but his receivers often don't get open (Plax was hurt all year, he gets a pass) or DROP the ball. Eli's numbers would be a lot better with Moss and Welker and Stallworth. But Sunday, the G-Men wr's were getting some space (not a lot of space, those throws were right on target and had to be) against a pretty good secondary and CATCHING the ball when it came. (well, maybe not Steve Smith).

But football's really a game of inches. Two plays especially. On an early pass to Toomer, the db went for the pick, missed by a hair, Amani gets about 10 more yards. On the pass to Jacobs (which was rifled and I still can't believe Jacobs caught it), Brooks (I think) does the same thing.

Things are lookin' up for Sunday though. Just read that Romo and Witten and Jessica went to Mexico for the weekend. T.O.'s limpin' around at practice.....now if Coughlin and Gilbride would just forget about that corner endzone pass.....
The main difference in Elis recent play is Gilbride simplifying the playbook and giving Eli more hot reads and less checkdowns not to mention he hasn't had to deal with inclement weather and hurricane winds
Yeah, he'll be needing a lot of flexibility on Sunday. Twelve Pro-Bowl guys on the other side. I'm especially worried about that Cowboys OL. I'm tryin to convince myself they can win....maybe after I read the 5 keys to victory, I'll feel better. (the pix sure add sumthin')..
