NYSS - An Abortion of New York Sports Journalism

Why? I dont understand why the giants couldnt hold on to Plax, especially when he is not even going to be on trial for another whole year. The giants have complimentary recievers and nobody that on a 3rd and 12 can go up against a double and come away with the ball. If plax is not going to be on trial until 2010, and he is going to be able to play with another team, then why couldnt the giants just man up and keep him around? Mark my words, they are going to regret this one when teams are stacking the box and challenging the JV squad of recievers that the giants have. Dont get me wrong, I like Hixon and Smith. Moss sucks, and manningham is unproven. I also like this new 6'7 reciever they got in the draft. But this is not going to help this year, and the giants are a "now" team. No Plax=9-7 this year

To answer the first question of this article, the Giants subtracted him because for all the benefits he brings to a team when his is on the field, the other 363 days of the year he is nothing but a liability. But this is obvious.

Hixon is beat. He will be on special teams by the end of training camp once the Coughlin and the rest pof the staff sees what hakeem nicks and Ramses can do. We all know mannigham is capable of taking a step to.

I don't think that the g-men will miss him as much as you indicate, The Giants are a now team but none of the major peices of the team are that old if you think about it.
