Gomez Heads to Montreal....Heatley not to be a Ranger
It was just announced that the Rangers have traded Scott Gomez (wooooo hooooo!!!!), along with Tom Pyatt and Mike Busto for Montreal's Chris Higgins, Ryan McDonagh, and Pavel Valetenko. Sather has seemingly done something right for once in clearing up some cap space and unloading that enormous contract/waste of money.
There are also rumors that Dany Heatley will be on Broadway by tomorrow. Cross your fingers everyone.

Update: Dany Heatley will NOT be a Ranger....ughh. He was trade to Edmonton tonight for Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner, and Ladislav Smid.
I knew it sounded too good to be true......thanks Glen.
Another Update: Looks like Heatley won't be an Oiler either. It is said that he killed the deal to Edmonton.
Donald Brashear has just signed with the Rangers for 1.4 million for two years. Colton Orr is a Toronto Maple Leaf. I hate Brashear. You know Sather couldn't go two days in a row without doing something stupid.
Rangers Update: The Rangers signed 27 year old, two-time NHL All Star, Marian Gaborik to a 5 year deal worth $37.5 million. I hope he give the team some life and better yet, some goals!

This guy higgins might be good, he's no John Tavares but still

It's not that I think he's an awful player, he was just waaaayyyyy overpaid for his talents which were never that spectacular....and he was getting paid a spectacular salary. He also gave me agida on a daily basis.
With him/his contract gone, it allows the Rangers some breathing room to try to sign a free agent. Sather needed to dump someone to clear some room because this season would be another mediocre disaster if he didn't.
Higgins is good and he is a native NYer, so we'll see if he produces. He better. :)

Rest your little head ranger girl...sather came through with Marion Gaborik...as long as this guy stays healthy he is straight butter...if you actually watch the games then you would know he scored 5 goals against us in one game 2 years ago...screw heatly...your first line is gonna have a combo like drury, gaborik and zherdev...goals will come in october...i just cant stand how we sign brazier(i know i cant spell it)...this guy is the biggest piece of shit in the entire league...watch how all drunk idiots that watch 3 games a year will watch the beginning of the year and say he is great...then come early february he will club someone in the face with his stick and we will all say what a piece of shit he is...i dont want that guy wearing our sweater
