New York City Triathlon

Well for those of you that come to NYSS to find about the latest in New York Sports, this is a fresh look at an event that will be taking place in New York City in late July. NYC will be hosting the NYC Nautica Triathlon. 1.1 Miles of Swimming followed by 26mi Biking, and 6.2mi run to be completed in central park.

Registration for this event sold out in 12minutes in early December and since then, I have been training my @$$ off. I'm not just doing this for the glamour (trust me there is none with multi-sport athletes), or to win (trust me thats impossible) or even to complete the race in a respectable time, (between 4-5 hours) but I AM DOING THIS for a good cause. STEM CELL RESEARCH. Stem cell has gotten a bad rep from some folks who believe it is geared toward human cloning. The fact is, stem cell research is intregral in the pursuit of cures for; paralysis, cancer and alzheimers disease.

I am doing this for my cousin as a way to raise money, and awareness for her foundation
