Stephon Marbury's behavior has been questionable at best throughout his career here in New York. I feel that he is labeled as a scapegoat a little too often and for the most part, he has been a player who puts forth his best effort on the hardwood. But there has always been something a little off with how he acts towards his team, the media, and the interns at the Garden.
The purpose of this ridiculous blog is to put on the doctor's hat (do doctors have hats?) and compare the signs and symptoms of
senility to his behavior over the years.
"Senility can be defined as ‘showing the feebleness of old age’ and in this sense it is commonly used to imply feebleness of the mind and requires a professional screening and/or evaluation by a healthcare practitioner barley relevant sports blogger."
Here are some of the things to look for when diagnosing Senility
Symptom #1 Look for signs of language difficulties
Exhibiting Behavior Recent statement by Marbury when asked if he expects to be a Knick when the regular season opens Oct. 29, Marbury said: "If that's what happens, that's what's gonna happen. If I get waived, I get waived. If I'm playing, great. If not, great." Um ok?
Symptom #2 If the person begins to act inappropriately or significantly out of character in social situations
Exhibiting Behavior Marbury has been in the news relating to Isiah Thomas' sexual harassment trial. One witness claimed that Marbury sexually abused a team intern; but the intern later testified that the sex was consensual. Marbury, a married father, testified that he had sex with the intern in his truck after a group outing to a strip club in 2005.
Symptom #3 Look for signs of impaired judgment
Exhibiting Behavior Marbury on Mike Vicks dog fighting incident"I think it's tough. I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what i hear, dog fighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors.
Symptom #4 Look out for irritability or emotional agitation.
Exhibiting Behavior When asked on if he "We need to concentrate on how we're going to win, not whether I'm getting waived or if I'm getting all my money," Marbury said. [...] "If D'Antoni feels he needs to go in another direction with a starting point guard (Chris Duhon), that's fine. I know I'm going to play someplace else.
Symptom #5 Has he or she forgotten how to do simple mathematics?

Symptom #6 Watch for physical coordination problems and physical confusion. People with senility often forget how to do simple learned tasks that have been part of their daily life for many years.
