10 Things the Father-In-Law Might Have Said to Trigger K-Rod's Outburst

Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez beat up his common law wife's father after the Mets lost a game he didn't even appear in. I was pondering how some athletes could be so dense sometimes like I do every Thursday evening when it came to me - K-Rod must have been antagonized pretty aggressively in order to just beat up a family member at his place of employment. The Daily News reported that one player heard the Father-in-Law say "Stop acting like a baby...Man up and play better."

I think there was more to it than just that though.

There MUST have been something said that was much more derogatory and exacerbating than "Man up". Here are 10 things that the Father In Law could have said to trigger K-Rod's outburst.

1. "Omar told me he re-signed Jerry for another 5 years"

2. "Jerry told me that Omar re-signed for another 5 years"

3. "Man up...and when I say that I don't mean growing that neckbeard to Santa-like lengths"

4. "Oliver told me to tell you he has some pitching advice he thinks you'll greatly benefit from"

5. "Hey Frank, can you increase my allowance again? This will seriously be the last time I ask"

6. "I tend to agree with Jerry's managerial philosophy"

7. "You know those empanada's you've been saving in the fridge? Well you see, I was watching Adult Swim the other night and was so starving I just voraciously devoured them in a famished haze"

8. "OMG you hear what your mother did at the bar the other night. Dude, she's such a puta!"

9. "Either she put on my weight or my daughter is pregnant with twins again. Either way, sucks for you"

10. "Jose Reyes says he got in a fight with his wife and needs to stay at our house for a while. I said it was okay. Don't worry, he said he promises not to play reggaeton at ridiculously high volumes at inappropriate times. "
