It's been about an hour since I watched the Mets blow another late-game lead with an inept bullpen. Even with a two-run shot from Delgado in the ninth they couldn't spark a comeback. So now I've had a chance to calm down and I'm ready to say that although an hour ago I was ready to write the Mets off from even a wild card appearance, I'm willing to see how it goes at Shea with the Cubs and Marlins.
Don't ask me why, because I don't even know myself. I guess I'm not ready to throw away an entire season of following this team only to bail on the last homestand. Especially since it's the last ever at Shea. Perhaps there's a little magic and amazement left in the Ole Amazins. Please God, let it be so. Yep, all I can do is pray now.
Want to have some fun? Google "Mets Bullpen" it doesn't matter if it's today's story, or any of the others, it's the same story, all year long. I say fun, but it's not fun at all. It breaks your heart.
