NYSS - An Abortion of New York Sports Journalism

Wani

Why the Yankees are more concerned about money than anything.

If you heard a Yankee fan say that the Yankees symbolize what is great about this country, they might be on to something after all. The other day, the gayest player in the history of baseball, Alex Rodriguez hit his 500 home run.

Now, no one says that the Yankees have to do anything to commemorate the event for the fans, but you would think that a team that makes as much money as the Yankees could come up with something, i.e. a picture with a lithograph, a clump of dirt, something.

Well, the Yankees were one step ahead of everyone. They came up with the idea for Alex Rodriguez 500th Home Run Commemorative bat. No autograph on the bat, no game used attributes, nothing. Here's the kicker, guess how much the bat costs?

$129.95 PLUS 20 FOR SHIPPING. ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME OF 4-6 WEEKS!!!

Now I understand how these assholes can afford a $220 million payroll. With complete disregard for their own fans, I would love to see how a Yankee fan can defend this one. I love the 4-6 weeks for shipping, that is just pure thievery.

Met fans are gay... Look at my friend David Ponte. This is the depths they go to they will sit at their own desk that says mets suck with a yankee insignia. I will do whatever it takes to support our payroll to make sure we get Santana, Johan in 2009
