I was being my usual lazy self this Saturday while watching Team USA take on Team Canada when I heard the color commentator talk about how David Wrigh's and Jimmy Rollins lockers were sandwiching Derek Jeter's locker.
Derek Jeter Said this regarding being in between the two NL East Rivals. "If they want to get at each other, they've got to come through me," Jeter said on Tuesday. "I'm a little barrier, I guess."

"We signed the three-week treaty, I guess,"
David Wright said. "We promised not to talk about, 'Who's the team to beat?' or anything like that.
"It takes a little while to adjust,"
Jimmy Rollins admitted. "You spend all your time wanting to beat each other, it's hard to just flip a switch and realize that you're teammates, all on the same side now."
So we all know that the Mets and Phillies like each other about as much as New York Rangers fans would like
Dennis Potvin to join them for Sunday brunch. I realize that MLB rivalry's in general are blown out of proportion. They are construed to be more real then they really are by the fans and the media.
Still though, these two NL East teams aren't going to grab some beers with each other just the same as you are not going to drink with the opposing team that just made you embrace the mercy rule so mercifully in your softball league. (More softball analogies to come this year as I just joined a league that plays under the Queensboro Bridge)
