The magical, mythical, overrated,
ESPN created monster known as Brett Favre has been involved in trade rumors for basically every team that doesn't have a solid starting quarterback. I also like to label this saturated coverage of his life and text message habits as "Favreaganda" or even "Favregate". Considering the New York Jets haven't anointed a starting QB yet, its no surprise that
people are still convinced the Wrangler jean wearing interception leader can for some reason propel this Jets team into a contender.
I've made this clear multiple times on this site that
Brett Favre is a horrible fit for this team! Just because ESPN completely inundates its content views with articles, features, blogs, commercials, and cheezy award shows with Favre propaganda, it doesn't mean that this guy is the secret key to the championship lock that has evaded
NY football Jets fans for multiple decades now.

Listen, I understand Favre is a Hall of Famer, but that doesn't mean that he is capable of being the type of quarterback who will take the backseat to what is an already established run-oriented offense. Here are
5 Reasons Why Favre Should Not Be On the Jets
1) I am happy with the Jets being a team, not a one player team. If Favre comes every win, every loss, and every back page will be Favre'd out. I'm not sure I can take it...seriously.
Throw the team concept out the window.
2) I just don't think he is that good, he throws a ton of picks and isn't that mobile anymore. With the exception of last year,
he continuously made bad decisions like throwing into double coverage and holding on to the ball too long and getting sacked.
3) Offenses designed by coordinators and head coaches are designed for Favre, this
current offense is designed to be flexible for the QB's they have now, not for some gun slinger.
4) W
e have two QB's that should be capable of being solid, if not better than solid offense administrators. I will assume that Clemens will win the job in camp and he has shown flashes that he can orchestrate the offense. Pennington has the highest completions percentage in NFL history, I don't care what kind of passes he usually throws thats impressive.
5) This isn't a win now team. Yes, anything is possible in the NFL but
if we are going to win, it's not because our QB is making miraculous throws and doing all types of amazing shit. It will because our defense is stingy, our running game maintains time of possession and our QB manages the game how Tangini wants it to be managed.
Leave me alone Brett Favre. Leave me alone.
